We cannot expect farming and production without the labour of our farmers. A farmer lives in a village and leads a very simple life. He works from dawn to dusk. Rising in the morning, he eats some ‘panta bhat’ or watered rice and goes to work in the field. If there is no food in the house, he goes without food. But he must work in the field in fair and foul weather. Though a farmer works very hard, he lives a poor life. He does not get fair price of his crops. He lives in a hut or a cottage. A landless farmer lives a very miserable life. He is very happy if there is a good harvest. But his sorrows know no bounds if there is a bad harvest.
